National, 28th December 2024: The Kota District Administration and the Kota Students Welfare Society (KSWS) together have announced "Kota Cares," a visionary community-driven initiative designed to redefine student welfare and support. With the inspiration of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, This initiativofficially inaugurated at the Kota Mahotsav in the presence of District magistrate Dr.RavindraGoswami, this program aspires to make Kota a model city of holistic student well-being, rooted in inclusivity, safety, and collective growth.
On this occasion, along with District Collector Dr.RavindraGoswami, directors of coaching institutes, hostel association members, mess owners, district administration officials were present. Apart from a large number of coaching students and parents, city residents were also present in the program.
Kota, known as India’s premier hub for competitive exam preparation or ShikshakiKaashi, hosts over 2 lakh students annually and has upheld the trust of more than 30 lakh parents and students over the last 4 decades. More than 10 lakh doctors and engineers in India have built their careers through Kota.
Recognizing the immense responsibility that comes with this reputation, "Kota Cares" brings together an unprecedented coalition of stakeholders, including local police, government departments, coaching institutes, educators, hostel owners, shopkeepers, autorickshaw drivers, students, and their parents, to create a nurturing environment for students pursuing their academic aspirations in the city.

"Kota Cares exemplifies our collective commitment to ensuring that every student who comes to our city feels supported, valued, and empowered to achieve their dreams. This initiative will mark a significant step toward strengthening the foundation that makes Kota India's premier educational hub."

The initiative rests on three strategic pillars:
- Community Engagement: Mobilizing, sensitizing and training aforesaid stakeholders to act as student welfare ambassadors.
- Enhanced Support Systems: Creating an integrated network of academic, emotional, and logistical support for students.
- Cultural Transformation: Building an ethos of collective growth, safety, and shared accountability for student success.
"Kota Cares will be about harnessing the power of our community to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for our students," said Shri Ravindra Kumar Goswami, the District Magistrate of Kota. "By bringing together all stakeholders in the educational ecosystem, we will build a stronger, more resilient community that prioritizes student wellbeing alongside academic excellence."
Under these pillars, and through the District Magistrate’s office leading extensive consultations with stakeholders, including the Education Department, Health Department, Police, coaching institutes, hostel associations, parents, and students, "Kota Cares" will roll out a series of targeted programs, including:
- Stakeholder Training: Workshops to equip local citizens with the skills to recognize and respond to student challenges.
- Holistic Support Services: Enhanced coordination between coaching institutes, healthcare providers, and law enforcement to address student needs comprehensively.
- Resource Development: Comprehensive guides and digital tools for students, covering everything from mental health resources to navigation tips for city life.
- Storytelling Campaigns: Celebrating positive experiences to inspire trust and hope among students and their families.
The initiative aims to achieve tangible outcomes, such as reducing dropout rates, improving mental health metrics, and increasing student satisfaction scores. The initiative’s success will be measured through periodic assessments, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
"Kota Cares" is not just about creating a better Kota—it’s about reinforcing Rajasthan’s legacy as a hub of education, resilience, and innovation. By ensuring the well-being of students in Kota, the initiative contributes to the larger national goal of fostering an empowered, educated youth. This model of community-driven welfare aspires to serve as a blueprint for cities across India, aligning with the vision of a self-reliant and inclusive Bharat.

About Kota Student Welfare Society
The Kota Student Welfare Society (KSWS) is a registered society dedicated to the holistic welfare of students in Kota who are studying in various coaching institutes in the city. In association with the district administration and various government and private organizations, KSWS organizes activities such as Kota Carnival, Coffee with Collector, mental health workshops, career counseling sessions, cultural programs, safety awareness drives, skill development programs, and more. The society also provides timely emergency assistance and fosters community engagement to address the academic, emotional, and social needs of students, creating a safe and supportive environment in Kota.
