Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), DRDO, Min. of Defence, Avadi is involved in the Design & Development of State-of-the-Art Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) for the Army & Spin-offs for other Services (Air Force & Navy). CVRDE has the Core Competency in the technologies relevant to Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) viz., Turret & Weapon System, Chassis & Automotive System, Powerpack (Engine & Transmission) Technologies, Running Gear Technologies, Vehicle Electricals, Vehicle Electronics and Vehicle Communication etc. Also, CVRDE undertakes collaborative research with IITs, IISc Bangalore and other leading academic institutions.

 

CVRDE desires to engage young and meritorious Indian nationals (as Junior Research Fellows), who desire to pursue research in the areas related to AFV technologies,

 

Offline applications are invited, as per the format given in Annexure I, for selection of Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) in the following disciplines.

1. The last date for receipt of application at CVRDE is 21 days from the date of publication in Employment News / National & Regional as applicable.

 

 

1. Documents to be enclosed

 

1. Self attested certificates / testimonials regarding Date of Birth, essential and higher qualifications along with mark sheets, and GATE score, caste etc. If any document / certificate furnished are in a language other than English, a duly self attested transcript in English of the same is to be attached.
2. Candidates who are in regular service whether in permanent or temporary will be required to produce a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from the Cadre Controlling Authority/ Present Employer at the time of Screening & Written test.

 

1. Written Test and interview at CVRDE, Avadi

 

1. Date, time and venue of written test (objective type) and interview will be directly intimated to the shortlisted candidates by CVRDE, via email.
2. Candidates are required to produce original certificates / testimonials at the time of interview.
3. Written test (objective type) of all eligible candidates will be conducted after verification of certificate / testimonials.
4. Candidates shortlisted from written test will be required to attend interview at CVRDE on the same day.
5. The candidates must come prepared to overstay for a day or Two to complete the process.
6. Candidates should make their own arrangement for their stay and transport in Chennai.

 

1. Selection Process / Criteria

 

1. The shortlisted candidates on the basis of the B.E / BTech / M.E/ MTech marks will appear for written test at CVRDE, Avadi, Chennai – 600054.
2. Candidates who do not qualify the Written test will not be considered for Interview.
3. In addition to the above, any other selection tool / test may be administered, at the sole discretion of the Director, CVRDE.

 

1. No TA/DA will be paid for attending written test and interview or for joining, if selected.
2. The decision of the committee constituted by Director, CVRDE in selecting the candidates will be final and binding on all the candidates.

 

1. Caution:

 

Misrepresentations or falsification of facts detected at any stage of the selection process or instances of misconduct / misbehavior at any stage during selection process shall result in cancellation of candidature without any notice and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.

 

1. General Instructions:

 

1. The applicants should ensure their eligibility criteria in respect of age, essential qualifications, etc.
2. Only those candidates who have awarded Degree/Provisional Certificate are eligible to apply.
3. Those who were already awarded JRF position in any of the DRDO Laboratories/Centres earlier, are not eligible to apply again.
4. No allied or equivalent engineering discipline is acceptable. Similarly, M.E (or) M.Tech engineering discipline, relevant to their B.E/ B.Tech Engineering discipline is only acceptable.
5. Only candidates applied within the due date will be shortlisted & intimated for further written test and interview at CVRDE through email.
6. Shortlisted candidates only have to attend the written test and interview along with a copy of the intimation sent by CVRDE.
7. Candidates are advised to keep visiting DRDO website (https://drdo.gov.in) for updates issued from time to time.
8. Applicants are advised not to change their registered mobile number and email as vital information will be intimated through SMS/ email.
9. Candidates have to produce all certificates, in original, for verification before commencement of Written test. One set document (self-attested) to be submitted during reporting time.
10. Candidates are requested to bring one Photo Identity Card in Original like Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter Id etc at the time of interview.
11. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC Non-Creamy layer are required to produce the original caste certificate issued by the competent authority at the time of interview.
12. Award of Fellowship shall not be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right. The selection of the candidate will be entirely the discretion of CVRDE.
13. The offer of Fellowship is purely temporary in nature for a limited period as per the rules in vogue and does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO.
14. The candidate may be allowed to register for part-time Ph.D with any University/Institution during the tenure of the fellowship on approval of CVRDE.
15. The research fellowship may be terminated at any time during the tenure with a prior notice of one month. Fellows may resign with a prior notice of one month.
16. CVRDE reserves the right to amend / modify or summarily cancel this advertisement.
17. Dispute, if any, will be subject to the courts / tribunals having jurisdiction over Madras/ Chennai (Tamil Nadu) only.
18. Director, CVRDE reserves the full right to cancel the candidature without prior intimation.
19. CVRDE, Avadi is located 25 kms away from Chennai Central Railway Station and ~38 kms from Kilambakkam Bus Stand.
