More than three lakh applicants have registered themselves for various undergraduate courses at the undergraduate (UG) admission portal of Delhi University for academic session 2018-19 whose admission process began on May 15 and will last till June 7.
As per the data provided by DU officials, 306861 candidates have registered at the online UG admission portal by Saturday evening. Out of it, 212282 registrations are for the merit based UG courses while 79558 registrations are for the entrance based UG courses. While the total number of paid applications for UG courses being 179704.
The total number of male applicants was more than total number of female applicants by more than 19,000. As the total number of male applicants stood at 136903 while total female applicants were 117340. The total numbers of applicant who have applied under the others category were just 72.
The first cut-off for merit based courses will be announced on June 19 while document verification, approval of admission, and payment of fees against the first cut-off would be made from June 19 to June 21.
The notification for second cut-off marks list by the colleges will be announced on June 25 while document verification, approval of admission and payment of fees against it would be made from June 25 to June 27. The third cut-off list by colleges will be announced on June 30 while admission against it would be made from June 30 to July 3. The fourth cut-off would be announced on July 6 and admission against the fourth cut-off would be made from July 6 to July 9.
The fifth and the final cut-off list will be announced by colleges on July 12 and document verification, approval of admission and payment of fees against the fifth cut-off will be made from July 12 to July 14 .
The applicants who meet the requisite cut-off should login to the UG admission portal using their registration account and select college/programme where the applicant wishes to take admission and meets the desired cutoff criterion. The applicant shall take the print out of the admission/registration form and together with the list of documents/certificates and proceed to the respective college for verification of mark-sheet/certificates, calculation of cut-off percentage depending on the programme/course.
The applicant will then be required to login to the UG admission portal to make the online admission fee payment through the available online payment options. The approved applicant is permitted to make online admission fee payment till 12 noon of the next day of the last day of admission cut-off list.
The college will retain the original certificates of an approved applicant in order to avoid multiple admissions. The certificates will remain with the colleges during the admission process. After this, the college will approve the admission on the UG admission portal. However, the colleges shall promptly return the documents in case the student withdraws/cancels the admission or student wishes to appear in counselling of any other university/ institute.
For students who wish to take admission under Sikh Minority category are required to fill the university's common registration form and select the "Sikh Minority Category". The candidature for admission under Sikh minority category will not be considered valid in any case, unless printout shows that candidate have selected Sikh Minority Category at the time of application.
Further students seeking admission under Sikh Minority Category must furnish "Minority Certificate" issued by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) at the time of admission.
On the other hand more than 121226 applicants have registered for postgraduate (PG) courses at PG admission portal of DU. Total male registrations for PG being 56353 while total female applications for PG being 64816. Total registrations for PG under others category were 57. Total paid applications in PG were 74107.
