The results of civil services preliminary examination was declared by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday.

The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages - preliminary, main and interview - to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.

Thousands of candidates had taken the test held on 7 August.

"The candidates who have been declared successful have to first get themselves registered on the relevant page of the website before filling up the online detailed examination form," the UPSC said.

The e-admit card, along with the time table of the main examination, will be uploaded on the Commission’s website --www.upsc.gov.in -- to the eligible candidates around two weeks before the commencement of the examination.

Successful candidates have been asked to fill a detailed application form, which will be available on the website of the Commission from 7 to 20 October, till 6 pm, for the civil services main examination.

Candidates are also informed that marks, cut-off marks and answer keys of screening test will be uploaded on the Commission website only after the declaration of final result of Civil Services Examination, 2016, the Commission said.

The Commission has a facilitation counter near the examination hall building on its campus at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi.

Candidates may obtain any information or clarification regarding their result on all working days between 10 am and 5 pm, in person or calling on telephone numbers 011-23385271, 011-23098543 or 011-23381125 from the facilitation counter. They can also obtain information regarding their result by accessing to the UPSC’s website.
