Sarkari Niyukti - Government Jobs in India - www.sarkariniyukti.blogspot.comUsually, the University announces semester exam results in June/July, however, the same was delayed this year by more than a month. The results of some of the subjects of the second year have been declared and the rest will also be declared soon. According to an official, “We have already started announcing the second-year results. Almost 50% results have been announced and the rest will be announced soon. The first-year results are likely to be prepared by next week and will be announced then.”

The delay has been caused due to the protests led by Delhi University Teachers’ Association against a notification by University Grants Commission which started on May 24. Teachers alleged that this new notification would cause serious threat to the jobs of around 50 percent teachers. The notification also meant that the workload of the teachers will increase and in a week they will have to devote 22 hours to the teaching work alone.

On July 18, the Human Resource Development ministry and the UGC agreed to listen to their demands. It was only after this that the teachers started the process of evaluation of answer sheets. The evaluation process is not easy in a university like DU where the number of students 54,000 and each student writing an exam for at least five subjects in one semester.

Delhi University results are available on the University’s site www.du.ac.in
