Nalanda University an international institution of national importance invites applications for Visiting Professor position in the School of Historical Studies (SHS). This Visiting position is to fill a leave vacancy at Professor rank for one year. The appointment shall be purely on contract basis for the duration of one year and will carry no commitment for appointment on a regular/permanent basis.

Description of the Position
• Academic expertise in Global History/ Chinese History/ Economic History/ Archaeology/ Ancient History or a closely related field.
• Mastery of language(s) relevant to these areas of specialization will be an added asset.
Essential Qualifications for the Position
• Previous teaching experience with high ratings of teaching effectiveness.
• Evidenceof strong scholarly activity and contributions.
• Strong fieldwork skills as evidenced by completed empirical research projects.
• Ability to teach effectively over a range of topics at the Masters level, not exclusively in the area of one's own research expertise.
• Ability to design, develop and write a Course Curriculum.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English which is the medium of instruction of the University.
• Position Start Date: September 01,2016
