Format of Synopsis for LL.D., Ph.D. & D. Phil. Regulations
The Synopsis should generally conform into the following standardized guidelines:
(1) Title page :
The first page should be the title page which should contain the following of the proposed theses:
(a) Name of the candidate.
(b) Title: The title should be concise and should clearly indicate the subject matter of the study.
The ideal length of the title should not exceed 15 words normally.
(c) Monogram of Chanakya National Law University should be placed in the middle of the title page.
(d) Name and Designation of Supervisor.
(2) Introduction:
It will start on a fresh page. The title of the proposed theses for Ph.D. and LL.D. will be written at the Centre of the page at the upper portion followed by the Introduction. Introduction should contain-
(a) A clear and definitive statement of the problem and related concepts should be presented. The researcher should also indicate the need for the present research and why the problem is important in terms of theory and/or model of the concerned field.
(b) Aims. (c) Hypothesis of the study.
(3)1 Review of Literature:
Here the researcher should try to logically establish an understanding of the existing literature relevant to the present study.
(4) Method of the study:
The main purpose of this section is to tell the reader how the research would be conducted.
(5) Thesis outline:
This Section should give information about the chapters through which the Doctoral thesis would finally be prepared and submitted.
(6) References:
The ‘Reference’ section of the synopsis should begin on a new page and should be in alphabetical and chronological order by the last name of author and year of publication in parenthesis.
The synopsis should be presented either in spiral binding or paste
