Applications in the prescribed format given below are invited from Indian Citizens and such other Nationals as are declared eligible by Government of India for recruitment to the under mentioned posts. All posts are temporary but likely to be permanent.
N.B. ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK IN BENGALI IS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POSTS AND SERVICES MENTIONED BELOW PROVIDED THAT THE SAID COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT OF KNOWLEDGE IN BENGALI IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR NEPALI SPEAKING CANDIDATES FROM THE HILL AREAS OF THE DISTRICT OF DARJEELING UNLESS MENTIONED OTHERWISE AGAINST ANY PARTICULAR POST(S). 1. INSPECTOR OF FACTORIES (MEDICAL) IN WEST BENGAL FACTORIES SERVICE UNDER LABOUR DEPARTMENT - FOUR (ONE EACH RESERVED FOR S.C. & S.T. CANDIDATES.).
PAY: Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. - 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs.6, 600/-
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: (i) Medical qualification included in First or Second schedule or Part-II of Third schedule to Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal.
(ii) Diploma in Industrial Health/ Public Health.
Desirable: Six months’ practical training as House Staff in Government Hospital or other recognized institution.
AGE: Not more than 35 years on 01.01.2014, relaxable for otherwise well-qualified and experienced candidates.

2. GEOGRAPHY MISTRESS, DOW HILL GIRLS’ SCHOOL, KURSEONG IN WEST BENGAL GENERAL SERVICE UNDER THE SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPATMENT – ONE [RESERVED FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (SUFFERING FROM BLINDNESS OR LOW VISION)] (MEN UNSUITABLE).
PAY: Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5, 400/-.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
(i) Second class Master’s Degree or Honours Degree in Geography of an Indian University or equivalent,
(ii) Degree in teaching or Education or equivalent (a candidate not possessing this qualification may apply but if selected shall have to acquire such qualifications within three years of joining the post and will draw on an ad-hoc basis the initial of the time-scale of pay till she qualifies herself in this regard),
(iii) Teaching experience in English medium in secondary schools, preferably residential ones, relaxable for otherwise well-qualified candidates,
(iv) Ability to teach in English medium.
Desirable:
(i) Ability to organise extracurricular activities such as performance of dramas, organization of literary meetings, educational excursions etc. &
(ii) Knowledge of Nepali – spoken and written
AGE: Not more than 35 years as on 01.01.2014.
Note:
(i) Age is relaxable for otherwise well-qualified candidates and for persons holding substantive appointment in the teaching branch of the Education Department, West Bengal.
(ii) Selected candidates whose mother-tongue is not Bengali will have to pass the Departmental Examination in Bengali before confirmation.
(iii) The minimum qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal for otherwise well-qualified candidates in cases no candidate possessing the minimum qualifications is available.
(iv) Free-partly furnished quarters will also be provided under certain conditions.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF AGRICULTURE IN THE WEST BENGAL AGRICULTURAL SERVICE (ADMINISTRATIVE) UNDER AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT – ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY SEVEN [THIRTY EIGHT RESERVED FOR S.C., ELEVEN FOR S.T., SEVENTEEN FOR O.B.C. CATEGORY ‘A’, TWELVE FOR O.B.C. CATEGORY ‘B’ CANDIDATES AND SIX FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (BLINDNESS OR LOW VISION – TWO, HEARING IMPAIRED – TWO & LOCOMOTOR DISABILITY OR CEREBRAL PALSY – TWO)]
PAY: Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. – 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5, 400/-.
QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture with 4 (four) years degree course from a recognised University/Institute.
Desirable: Knowledge of Agricultural conditions in West Bengal.
AGE: Not more than 32 years on 01.01.2014.
