The Vidyadeep Scholarship is an All India Scholarship designed to help the students who want to pursue their education through distance education Programs of SMU-DE.

Eligibility Details

• The Scholarship would be awarded basis the percentage or equivalent secured in the qualifying examination (examination marks % will be considered for the whole course) as per the category matrix outlined below:

All students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura are eligible for minimum of 15% scholarship without any qualification criterion. They have to be in Top 250 and Top 500 students All India to be eligible for 100% and 50% scholarship.

• For the purpose of defining the grade, a percentage or its equivalent has to be established. For example a CGPA of 4 (Max 5) is equal to 80%. In case an equivalent percentage cannot be established, the decision of the University would be final and binding in this regard.

• The Scholarship is valid for students who are eligible for admission to any of the SMU-DE Program in 2013-14.
  • The Scholarship benefit is valid for students who make an application for admission to any of the SMU-DE Programs between 2nd and 7th February 2014
  • Only physical Scholarship Applications duly signed along with the Application for Admission form completed in all respects and necessary enclosures are received by the University Admissions office between 2nd and 31st January 2014, will be considered as valid applications for availing Scholarships.
• There are limited numbers of Scholarships available in each of the aforesaid category (ies).


• The first top 250 students with more than or equal to 90% marks in qualifying examination will be eligible for 100% tuition fee waiver.


• The next top 500 students with more than or equal to 80% marks in qualifying examination will be eligible for 50% tuition fee waiver.


• In case, the Scholarship quota of any higher category is completed, the student is automatically eligible for the next best category and so on so forth.


• No further scholarships will be offered after exhausting number of available Scholarships in each category as per matrix referred above.
