The National Polio Surveillance Project supports the Union and state Governments with technical assistance for surveillance and immunization activities directed towards polio eradication, measles elimination and intensification of routine immunization as a part of the broader agenda of Universal Health Coverage.
WHO India is recruiting dedicated and result oriented medical professionals as Surveillance Medical Officers (SMOs). Selected candidates will be posted in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other parts of India (Transferable).
SURVEILLANCE MEDICAL OFFICERS
Broad scope of responsibilities:
SMOs shall be responsible for applying the principles of epidemiology and public health and will be involvecf with capacity building, monitoring & evaluation and data management related to surveillance and immunization activities targeted towards vaccine preventable disease eradication/ control.
Qualifications
Essential: MBBS (MCI / State Medical Council registration essential)
Desirable: Post graduation in community medicine/ preventive & social medicine/ public health/ paediatrics/other allied fields
Experience:
Essential: At least two years of public health experience after graduation (post graduation will count as experience)
Additional information:
Monthly remuneration is INR110,000, taxable as per Indian laws and the appointment will be through Special Services Agreement (SSA) extendable subject to satisfactory performance and continuing need for the function.
