Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation results 2017: Maharashta CM Fadnavis said it's an unprecedented victory for the BJP while addressing party workers at BJP's Dadar office.
The Shiv Sena
is all set to retain power in the BMC or Brihanmumbai Municipal
Corporation, the country’s richest civic body. As per the final tally,
the Shiv Sena has won 84 seats while the BJP has bagged 82. This time,
the Sena decided not to contest the polls in alliance with the BJP,
something that appears to have worked in favour of the BJP as well as it
now has 82 wins, currently at the second position. In the meantime,
while addressing a press conference at BJP’s Dadar office, Chief
Minister Devendra Fadnavis
thanked the people of Maharashtra, saying its an unprecedented victory.
The Sena has been in power for the last two decades. Mumbai recorded
55.53 per cent polling, highest in the last 25 years and ten per cent
higher than 2012.
